I have had many "firsts" with Mr. Aiden. His mom's maternity session when she was pregnant with him was my first photo shoot ever. When he was born I did my first newborn shoot. Now he's turning one and he's my first smash cake session. Happy Birthday Aiden!! I've had a great year with you!!

Week 32: i♥faces Surprise! Photo Challenge
This is a picture of my youngest son as he stepped into the spray of the sprinkler. I love the look on his face. He loves the sprinkler but has this same shocked look every time. I'm entering it into iheartfaces Surprise! photo challenge.

Ethan & Ava
I had a great photoshoot the other evening. A friend of mine from highschool asked me to photograph her two adorable kids. I shot at a new location. It's a great little neighborhood with a huge lake. The lake has a nature trail around it that's just fabulous! Here are some photos from the shoot...

Blossoms Workshop
Thanks to Facebook and Link Love, I stumbled across the website Love That Shot. They have great information on their website, wonderful tutorials and a fantastic, supportive community forum.
I am currently enrolled in the Blossoms Workshop. I am loving it. Just this week I've learned so much about my camera and photoshop. Michelle is awesome. Her lessons are very informative and very easy to follow. Now if I can just get the weather to cooperate, I can finish my first assignments and blog about them. ;)

On a Winter's Day

My husband watches our 3 boys on Saturdays for a few hours so I can get out of the house. Last week we had an ice storm and that Saturday I ventured out to take some pictures. I've only had my camera for a year and I didn't realize how hard it is to capture an icy wonderland. It looks so pretty to the eye but I haven't figured out how to photograph it.
Well not wanting to waste my free time and really craving some creative expression, I went and bought some roses. It was about 30 degrees outside so I sat in the parking lot in my car and took pictures of the flowers. The pictures turned out okay. Here's one...

As I was driving home, I passed a field with some ice-covered trees. I pulled over to try to get some good shots but just wasn't happy with any of them. Then I eyed it...a beautiful, old, slightly rusted tractor sitting in the middle of the field. I grabbed the roses and made my way to the tractor. Here's a few of the shots I got..

I had such a great day and I've been enjoying the gorgeous roses all week.
