My husband watches our 3 boys on Saturdays for a few hours so I can get out of the house. Last week we had an ice storm and that Saturday I ventured out to take some pictures. I've only had my camera for a year and I didn't realize how hard it is to capture an icy wonderland. It looks so pretty to the eye but I haven't figured out how to photograph it.
Well not wanting to waste my free time and really craving some creative expression, I went and bought some roses. It was about 30 degrees outside so I sat in the parking lot in my car and took pictures of the flowers. The pictures turned out okay. Here's one...

As I was driving home, I passed a field with some ice-covered trees. I pulled over to try to get some good shots but just wasn't happy with any of them. Then I eyed it...a beautiful, old, slightly rusted tractor sitting in the middle of the field. I grabbed the roses and made my way to the tractor. Here's a few of the shots I got..

I had such a great day and I've been enjoying the gorgeous roses all week.
Great pictures. I am imagining a tired farmer heading home on Saturday night to take his true love some happiness
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to visit and post a comment! You made my day!
ReplyDeleteI like the refinement of the roses next to the worn rusty tractor. It's also like a romantic portrait of a refined woman with a hard-working {less-refined} strong man. {like me and my husband. haha. sort of}
ReplyDeleteChristine, you know I think your tractor's sexy! I love how your artistic eye paired the feminine roses with the masculine machinery!
ReplyDeleteThese are award winning photos! I hope to see them someday on a billboard selling some sexy fragrance for the girl next door!

I think those are fantastic shots! You should send a small print to the tractor owner's home.... what a surprising shock that would be!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your kind words! :)
